24/7: Nicholas Koby

Fri. May 31st 2019 - Fri. June 7th 2019
“Teenage Nostalgia,” by Nicholas Koby, is an encapsulation of today’s teens; a generation that feels trapped by nasty stereotypes of being anti-social, stimulant and technology addicted, and incapable of holding a real conversation. A society that is segregated by generational differences, or stereotypes, does a disservice to everyone; each stage of life holds knowledge and experience that is valuable. With this work, Koby hopes to breakdown the barrier of distrust and judgement of a society that is suspicious of youth.

Koby lives on Salt Spring Island, BC. This work is part of the exhibition 24/7, where Gulf Islands Secondary School students take over storefront windows in Ganges + Victoria to make their site-specific photographs accessible 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.
May 31 - June 7th.
