Kelsey Legault Still Life

Sun. December 3rd 2017 - Thu. December 28th 2017
@  Ministry of Casual Living Window Gallery
Still Life, February 2017, Digital Print, 24 X 16 inches

Still Life depicts a scene of three computer monitors and three potted plants. The computer monitors show an altered representation of the same scene that the monitors themselves reside in, causing the reality of the whole image to be at stake. The out-of-date monitors and dramatic lighting used in the scene reference futuristic and dystopian aesthetics, offering contemplation of recent technological progression, and how digital technologies can affect our perception of reality.
