I am a 5th generation French Canadian settler working on the unceded territories of Lekwungen-speaking peoples, also known as the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. A few of the nearby areas in which I feel honored to immerse myself in include the Nitinaht Region of the Ditidaht-speaking peoples, and the traditional territories of the Cowichan Tribes, Malahat and other First Nations. I hold an MFA from Emily Carr University and am currently working on a book to be published by Quotidian Press about the forced coexistence of the multiple species of wood found in my flat which was classified as 0.01 acres when I became its mortgagor.
