MoCL "Artificium" Fashion Show: Model & ...

MoCL & Vic Fits are excited to announce that we are collaborating to bring you a Fashion Show this December: “Artificium”!

Are you a designer, textile artist, artist with body-based work, an accessory artist...? Is your art wearable? Feel free to push the boundaries of what “wearable” means.

Are you interested in modeling designs by local artists on the MoCL runway?

If so, we want to hear from you! No prior experience necessary!

Please fill out the Designer Application Form + Model Interest Form with the links below:

What we’re looking for…
Designers:
Wearable art pieces that explore the juxtaposition between technological versus natural/analogue practices. Gabrielle and Leda's objective is to work with designers to curate looks featuring multiple designers and artists on the runway. These looks will explore the duality between what is machine manufactured v.s. human made. Artists who utilize unconventional materials are encouraged to apply (e.g. a tie made of paperclips, a dress made of newspaper, etc.). We will be prioritizing the inclusion of up and coming artists and designers who may not have had previous opportunities to display their work in a fashion show setting.
Models:
We welcome submissions from people of all sizes, ethnicities, abilities, genders, ages, and intersections of identity to apply for this opportunity. No prior experience is necessary.

✮⋆˙ Application Deadline: October 20th, 2025.

About the curators…
Leda Shields (she/her) is the program coordinator for The Ministry of Casual Living. She is an artist, collector of vintage clothing and oddities, and she works at the beloved local vintage spot, Vintage After Death. She is interested in exploring the intersections between personal style, design, and art practice.
Gabrielle Elhav (she/they) is a multidisciplinary artist and student. Passionate about creating sustainable cycles of art and design Gabrielle explores the intersection of politics and art through her academic work and storytelling. She is the creator of Vic Fits (@vicfitsbc), a blog where she photographs stylish individuals on the streets of Victoria and collaborates with local fashion designers and business to encourage a dialogue on our community connection.
